Lyrics to Verse 1
They came form the whole world over, drawn to this lonely shore.
These scattered and driven exiles, aching for something more.
Through darkness and flight, through long winter’s night,
they clung to this rugged space..
They Followed her flowing rivers, F\farmed on her inland plains.
They fished on her tidal waters, mined in her mountain veins
They toiled and they claimed, their children were named.
The lines of the future cast, and here in this distant province,
hope would be theirs at last.

They came form the whole world over, drawn to this lonely shore. These scattered and driven exiles, aching for something more. Lyrics to 1st Verse
We gathered the tamarack, oak, birch and pine . We took from the forest and took from the shore.
And we gave her her breath, and her strength and her line, with the skills we had learned from our fathers before. We worked in the rain and the heat and the cold. We cursed and rejoiced in our pride and our joy. And we never imagined our hands would grow old, and her like on the water we’d not see again.
Lyrics to 1st Chorus
We built this old ship with our sweat and endeavour. She ran with the wind and the wind set her free. And we once dared to dream she would live on forever. But although she was ours, she belonged to the sea.
